Review: Montreal Mirror
My spousal equivalent used to live in Mile End. When we wanted to go out to eat but couldn’t think of a place, we always ended up at either Sala or Mondo Fritz. Sala offers good, consistent Spanish tapas. A plus for her was they have lots of great vegetarian plates on the menu (even I like ‘em) and the chorizo and mussles and other meat/seafood dishes are also quite good. The place is interesting. It is usually filled with a mix of Mile Enders and Spanish regulars – the latter seem to have two tables reserved for cards (one for the men, one for the ladies) and they seem to be there every time we’re there. This is a great place to go if you are heading to a show at the Sala Rossa (upstairs) or Casa del Popolo (across the street)
Price: Not very expensive. Usually $50-60 for two with beer and sangria included.
Beer: Griffon rousse
